SO here's what I've been doing. A few week-ends ago my school put on a ball because ISTI is made up of mostly girls, and the other school that was invited was the Belgian military academy (all boys). How incredibly old fashioned, right? Anyway, it was fun, and it was held at some hall with fancy chandeliers and very pretty decor. It kind of felt like prom, but with alcohol for sale. Some girls went all out and had ball gowns, i.e. cinderella/big poofy dresses, but all of the girls I went with as well as myself opted for cocktail dresses.
with Vicky, Raquel et Megan...almost all of the girls were classy drinking champagne, Raquel and I opted to be cheap because they gave more beer for less $

That same weekend, there was this thing called Museum Night Fever, where 18 different museums were open at night. There were shuttles that did loops around town, so actually getting to the different museums was probably what took up the most time. Of the 18, Allie, Raquel, Sofia, Fiona (our aussie roomie) got to go to two! We went to the Museum of Natural Science where we got to see dinosaurs! or their bones at least, and then we went to the Museum of Musical Instruments. The music museum had a very cool concept of giving everybody head phones so that you could walk around, stand in front of an instrument and hear what it sounded like. However, there were sooo many people in the museum that sometimes you could be standing in front of a violin and you would hear a trumpet playing. So, either I just didn't or couldn't hear the violin, or the radio waves circulating the building were messed up. It doesn't matter, it was worth the 9 euros we paid for the possibility of seeing 18 museums, because those two museums would have cost something like 20 euros if we had gone to see them separately.

Sofia had a slight problem, you know when the music you're listening to is pretty loud and you can't hear yourself speak over your headphones? Well, she yelled at us, several times :)
Raquel, Fiona et Sofia...I think this was when we were being filmed
thought there was a band playing here, only to find out that it was just somebody playing the drums at an unnecessarily loud volume
Until next time, which will hopefully be soon but that depends when our internet gets "fixed". I think all of the people in this house are going just as crazy as I am, I feel like I'm working with a dial-up connection, sometimes worse. Hope this posts otherwise that was a lot of waiting for uploads/writing for nothing!
