The museum of modern/ancient art // Le musée de l’art modern/ancien

On Sunday we went to the museum of modern and ancient art because there really isn't anything else to do on Sundays here, everything is closed.  I still have to get used to that, as well as the store/supermarket hours.  It's something you don't appreciate until you're in Europe.  Everything, and I mean everything is closed on Sundays! Except for a few corner shops here and there.  So if you want to do errands, you have to do them during the week or at least on Saturday.  Also, like I said earlier the store hours here are kind of irritating.  All the stores close at 19h00 (7:00 pm), there's no such thing as "walmart" here!  Nothing is open 24 hours a day. // Le dimanche on est allée au muse de l’art modern/ancien parce qu’il n’y a rien à faire le dimanche, tout est fermé.  Je dois m’habitue à cela, même que les horaires des magasins et supermarchés.  C’est quelque chose on n’apprécie pas jusqu’à quand on est en Europe.  Tout, et je veux dire vraiment tout est fermé le dimanche, sauf quelques petites épiceries ça et là.  Donc pour faire des cours, on doit les faire pendant la semaine ou au moins le samedi.  Aussi,  comme j’ai dit avant ce qui m’embête sont les horaires des magasins.  Tous les magasins ferment à 19h00, il n’y a pas de « walmart » ici !  Rien n’est ouvert 24h/24.

Back to the subject, the museum was a lot bigger than I had imagined.  The building doesn't look big at all from the outside but there are maybe 5 or 6 floors underground.  For students the entry was only 2 euro and there was a lot of museum to see for such a small price.  There was "ancient art" which was from the 16th to 18th century and then from the 19th century and so on, the art was considered "modern". // Alors, revenons à nos moutons ! Le musée était beaucoup plus grand que j’ai imaginé.  Le bâtiment n’est pas du tout grand de dehors mais il y a peut-être 5 ou 6 étages sous terre.  Pour les étudiants ce n’était que 2 € et il y avait beaucoup de musée à voir pour ce petit prix.  Il y avait d’art « ancien » donc de XVIe siècle au XVIIIe siècle et puis de XIXe siècle et ainsi de suite l’art était considéré « modern ».  

Belgian pride ?  // La fierté belge ?

Sorry, I forgot who made this but it’s a huge globe made of bugs like cockroaches and beetles. // Désolée, j’oublie qui l’a fait mais c’est un globe énorme fait avec des bestioles comme des cafards et scarabées.
